Secondment opportunity or short-term contract

The Grazing Animals Project is seeking an experienced project manager to help with the next phase of GAP’s development. The temporary UK Co-ordinator will work with Natural England and other partners to complete The Wildlife Trusts’ contract management of GAP in early August. Key responsibilities will be to:

• Manage two outposted Local Grazing Scheme Co-ordinators
• Manage the GAP Administrator
• Oversee delivery of GAP outputs including website, training programme, advisory products and conservation grazing materials
• Oversee a transition in financial arrangements

The ideal candidate will have experience of project management including managing staff, budgets and a diverse programme of activity. They should ideally have an understanding of conservation grazing issues. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people is essential and the ideal candidate will need to be self motivated as well as being able to work well as part of a team.

We are seeking to fill this role through a secondment or short-term contract. The secondee can be based at their existing location although close proximity to Cambridge or Salisbury would be an advantage. The postholder will report to the GAP chair (based in Salisbury) and The Wildlife Trusts’ Head of Living Landscape (based in Newark).
