New Advice and Signs for Dogs and Walkers
New signs and advice for walkers with dogs have recently been issued by NFU and The Ramblers. The Ramblers advice available from their website is entitled Walking close to cows Dos and Donts and signs have been produced by NFU for its farmer members.
The new yellow and black signs are intended to give walkers using public footpaths a clear reminder of their responsibility as a dog owner and basic safety advice. The signs read Your dog can scare or harm farm animal. Keep it on a lead around livestock, but let go if chased by cattle.
