A new foot and mouth outbreak has been confirmed in Surrey, 15 miles from Pirbright.  A 10 km control zone has been placed around the farm, and movement restrictions will apply.  It is not clear at the time of writing whether these will be national.  For the latest update from Defra, see www.defra.gov.uk/footandmouth/latest-situation/index.htm.  The EU export ban lifted yesterday has been reinstated.
