Traineeships

The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has awarded a grant under its Skills for the Future programme to the Grazing Advice Partnership to set up and run a nationwide programme of traineeships.

The aim will be to offer trainees a mix of ‘on the job’ work experience and instruction in the practical skills associated with livestock handling and conservation grazing.

Trainees will receive a bursary, mentoring support and access to GAP training courses. The tax exempt bursary will be £10,500 for the nine month placement.  A two day induction course will be provided for each trainee as well as a set of protective clothing.

The second round of placements have been arranged with a range of leading traditional livestock farms and conservation grazing schemes and will start in March/April 2012.
