In brief:Large area of upland heathland in the Shropshire Hills AONB with multiple uses. The area is common land and is grazed by sheep and cattle from commoners, but increasingly by Hebridean sheep and Exmoor ponies owned by Natural England. The site acted as a focus for the Back to Purple HLF partnership project that has restored moorland from pine plantations and brought public and private bodies together to develop sustainable solutions to land management.
