EA, EN and North Lincolnshire Council managed realignment project on the river Humber where farmland was purchased to provide land for flood relief, access and amenity, grazing and biodiversity.
The wetlands that have been created are grazed by two farmers, one with a high health status herd of Limousin cattle the other using native breeds allied to local food marketing.
The project has investigated and facilitated green business development amongst participating businesses, with local food and tourism seen as potential growth areas.
