A Guide to Animal Welfare in Nature Conservation Grazing

This 110 page guide has been developed through discussions between members of GAP and representatives from animal welfare organisations in the UK. It is intended to provide information that will enable conservation managers to appreciate and implement high standards of animal care.

It is structured around 'The Five Freedoms' and a risk assessment approach is used to guide managers to sensible and pragmatic decisions that will assist them in assessing and providing welfare requirements. Appendices include information on condition scoring, indicators of health, transporting requirements, along with a references section and a glossary.

This is available as a hard copy from the GAP Office (for contact details click here) or as a PDF by clicking on the link.
